Tomato Chutney
Ingredients

5 ripe large tomatoes -- washed and diced into small pieces
1/2 tsp methi seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tblsp tamarind extract

Method

1. Keep a small frying pan on the heat and add 1/2 tsp methi seeds and 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and fry until the mustard seeds start to sputter and pop up.
2. Keep a lid handy to cover the pan. 3.Let the roasted mixture cool a little.
4.Then transfer it to a blender and grind till it becomes a smooth powder.
5.Keep a heavy saucepan on heat and add the diced tomatoes, chilli powder, salt, sugar, tamarind extract and  the roasted powder.
6.Mix all ingredients thoroughly, cover and slowly cook for about 25 - 30 minutes.
7.Let cool and the tasty tomato dip is ready
